Volksblad celebrated its centenary in 2004 and is the oldest Afrikaans daily in the country and the largest in the Free State and Northern Cape. The circulation section's delivery vehicles cover 18 500 km daily to distribute the newspaper. Volksblad is distributed as far south as Hanover, with the furthest point in the Northern Cape being Kakamas. In the Northern Free State readers from as far as Sasolburg and Harrismith in the Eastern Free State enjoy their early morning newspaper.
